The event titled “The key points of the New CAP and the New Improvement Plans” was completed successfully. It took place on March 29, 2023, at the premises of ena Development Consultants, specifically at #enahub, a meeting point for people and ideas from every sector, with a shared goal of growth, education, innovation and entrepreneurship.
At this informational event, producers had the opportunity to learn about the new Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) 2023–2027 and to get to know the financing tools they can use to upgrade their farms, such as the Improvement Plans.
The audience was welcomed by Dimitris Bardakidis, General Manager and Head of Primary Sector Development Strategy at ena Development Consultants, who opened the event with a short presentation of the company and spoke about its goals and vision. He then discussed the many changes and the difficulties of adapting to the new CAP, as well as how they can be addressed, armed with proper information and tailored crop and production plans developed together with their trusted advisor.
Next to speak were Maria Karatzoglou and Salomi Palamida, Primary Sector Development Consultants at ena Development Consultants and heads of the IACS teams at the Xanthi and Chrysoupoli offices respectively.
Maria Karatzoglou covered the key points of the new CAP and the ways it differs from the rules in force until the previous year, presented specific examples and use cases, and answered the producers' questions.
Salomi Palamida covered the parts of the new CAP concerning changes to coupled support and the eco-schemes.
After the presentations on the new Common Agricultural Policy, attendees had the opportunity to learn about the financing tools available to them for upgrading their farms. Special emphasis was placed on the “Improvement Plans” measure (Measure 4.1.5 – “Implementation of investments aimed at the resilience, sustainability and digital economic recovery of agricultural holdings” of Greece's Rural Development Program (RDP) 2014–2020), for which the application process is currently open until 16/05.
This section was introduced and presented by Fanis Koutrouvelis, Primary Sector Development Consultant and the company-wide lead for the “Improvement Plans” measure, who outlined the key points of the Improvement Plans call, the eligible beneficiaries, the amount of funding, the eligible expenses and the scoring criteria for applicants, along with example cases.
Throughout and after the presentations, there was a creative dialogue between the ena Development Consultants team and the producers, who followed everything presented with great interest.
